Tannin’s Lament for Elsha
In fair Drandmir, once the evil Amber Lee had been deposed and her charm spell broken, Lady Elsha was returned to her rightful place on the throne with her suitor, Tannin, once again at her side.  But there was a deep, dark secret within Elsha's heart, and she decided to step down from the throne and seek solace within an Abbey.  Tannin's heart was near to breaking, and the Bard could not deny the words that flowed from witnessing this tearful scene... Tune:  Banks of the Lee  Words:  Ginger Hulsopple

Dm                                              C
When my lady met me by the forest green and growing
  Dm                  C                                                    Dm
When my lady met me in the woodlands dear to me
                                                       C
And Elsha, fondest Elsha, she said unto her lover
                    Dm            C                                                       Dm
“You have stolen my young heart ‘neath the greenwoods tree.”

Chorus:
Dm                                                   C
For I loved her very dearly, most truly and sincerely
                  Dm                    C                                             Dm
There was no one in this wide world I loved more than she
                                                                C
As I stand beneath the bower, every wild woodland flower
      Dm                     C                                                 Dm
Reminds me of my Elsha, ‘neath the greenwoods tree.

            Dm                                               C
Do not lay the crown upon me,  To a throne pray do not lead me
           Dm                      C                                    Dm
Do not lay the crown upon me, for ‘tis heavy to me
                                                                       C
Oh t’was sorrow deep and silent as she held the sword once broken
      Dm                        C                                           Dm
A sorrow deep and silent that took my love from me.   Chorus

           Dm                                                        C
I will pluck my love some flowers, from our wild woodland bower
         Dm                               C                              Dm
I will pluck my love some flowers, the fairest to see
                                                                  C
And I’ll lay them at her doorway, that stands now dark and empty
   Dm                    C                                 Dm
Until the day my Elsha returns again to me.   Chorus
